The WEEE Directive aims to prevent waste from electrical and electronic equipment and to reduce such waste through reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery. It sets minimum standards for the treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the EU in order to contribute to sustainable development in the long term.

Amendments to the Packaging Act came into force on July 1, 2022: Initial distributors of all types of packaging filled with goods (including transport packaging and packaging subject to return and/or deposit) must register and provide information on the packaging they use. The obligation to register is also new for final distributors of filled service packaging, even if they purchase this packaging with full system participation.
